Linen
Linen garments are known for their lightweight and breathable properties, making them a popular choice for warmer weather. To properly care for linen garments, it's important to wash them in cool or lukewarm water with a gentle detergent and avoid bleach and fabric softeners.
Washing Tips:
- Linen should be washed at 40°C.
- Linen should be washed separately from other fabrics and colours.
- Hand-wash is best for thin linen fabrics, which could get damaged in the washing machine.
- Avoid detergents with bleach (i.e. chlorine, peroxide).
- Linen can be dried in a tumble dryer at a low temperature, hung, or left to dry flat on a white towel.
Cotton
Cotton garments are a staple in many wardrobes due to their comfort, versatility, and durability. Cotton can generally be washed in warm water with a mild detergent, and bleach can be used as needed, but always check the care label first.
Washing Tips:
- Wash in cold (30°C or below) water, whether using a washing machine or washing by hand
- Always air dry: dry clothes flat and out of the sun if possible.
- Avoid fabric softeners, tumble dry on low heat, and remove promptly to prevent wrinkles
- If needed, iron on the wrong side with a low to medium heat setting.

Washing Tips:

- Store the garment folded or rolled, rather than hanging as this will stretch the item.
