2021's seasonless trend: The western boot

2021's seasonless trend: The western boot

The western boots aka a James Dean daydream, are the seasonless pair of shoes to invest in, in 2021. For this reason, we’ve designed and dropped the exclusive short white western cowboy boot for you this summer.
From celebrity summer looks to red carpet glam, western boots have a space in everyone’s closet. Let’s run through the history of this iconic footwear style that is quickly becoming a staple:
The popularly known “cowboy boots” are children of the California Gold Rush in the 1850’s. The summer heat called for breathable workwear pieces, making this style hot weather approved. However, it wasn't until the 1950’s that Western fashion became trendy because of Western films.
The fashion industry quickly took inspiration from cowboys and even now, in 2021, these boots have become a wardrobe staple. In 2019, singer Lil Nas X released his popular single ‘Old Town Road’ which is believed to be the “reintroduction to western fashion” with the artist's western-inspired looks on the red carpet and music videos. Since then, we’ve seen brands like Paris Texas and our Cult Mia Classics brand Gvasalia have grown in popularity and demand.
Nowadays, celebrities like Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid have embraced the trend and their looks have floored us. Paired with a summer dress, jeans or shorts, western boots have proven to be versatile and iconic. Our personal favorite are the Gvasalia Gigi boots. The white pair is perfect for the day, styled with a white summer dress and a hat. The black pair is the perfect day-to-night boot that will elevate every outfit. (Spot our founder, Nina, is wearing the black western boots below at the office!)
Historic pieces in fashion almost never go out of style, and if they do you can rest assured they will come back sooner than you think. Invest in a pair of western boots. You’ll probably live in them.
