Our carpet shoes are made using a unique experimental embroidery technique.
We do not use animal fur but alpaca yarn that come from the remainders of clothing production.With the mix of yarn, we create a type of carpet that is handmade stitch by stitch and brushed to give the carpet a soft and fluffy look.
About Cornelio Borda
Renata Garcia-Menacho is the designer of Cornelio Borda. She created the brand in honor of her four grand aunts, who lived on the Cornelio Borda Street in Lima, Peru. Renata holds a Master’s Degree in Shoes and Accessories carried out in collaboration with Fendi in Rome. She has worked for many years with Italian shoemakers and Italian material research companies. She is fluent in Spanish, Italian, English and German. Renata lives between Peru and Italy.
Cornelio Borda creates luxury accessories that celebrate cultural histories and incorporate timeless design. The brand’s vision is to merge the great Italian knowledge of hand-made footwear and leather goods with beautiful Peruvian materials and craftsmanship. Cornelio Borda works directly with teams of Peruvian and Italian artisans, shoemakers and fashion experts. The brand believes that ethics and aesthetics can join hands.
